Recently the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) has updated the requirements to become a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional So, odds are by now that if you're interested in LEED you have discovered it is very challenging to overcome the LEED Candidate Handbook requirements for the LEED AP exam... specifically where it says you must have LEED project involvement experience or internship. The handbook specifically calls out the need to participate on a LEED project within the last three years in order to be eligible just to TAKE the exam. As you can imagine this provides a challenge to find a LEED project to become involved with. Most LEED Projects are not willing to let a un trained individual on the team. For those people, we've created the LEED Project Management Experience and Intern Program. What is this you ask? Essentially, it's a LEED AP Internship and LEED one-day, hands-on experience program that allows you to obtain the necessary AP experience to qualify for a LEED project, and gives you the valuable experience you need in order to progress down your path to becoming a LEED AP Specialty. This LEED Accredited Professional Internship gives you access to LEED online, Project scorecard, LEED AP exam Prep materials, LEED Exam Simulators, LEED AP Study Guides, LEED Forms and checklist. The access to LEED Online the official online tool used to certify projects, and lets you become an actual team member on a real-world in-progress LEED registration project. You'll edit LEED credits, enter in actual project information, and submit additional documentation to each credit. A complete walk-through of the LEED Online system will be provided, and at the end of it all, you'll recieve a letter of attestation, proving your involvement with the project. This one-day course will give you all the experience needed to make you eligible for the LEED exam, and can even provide you with up to 10 Credentialed Maintenance hours if you're already a LEED Accredited Professional! To find out more information about the program, visit the LEED Project Management Experience Page So, odds are by now that if you're interested in LEED, you've begun to read through the LEED Candidate Handbook, and noticed the requirements for the LEED AP exam… specifically where it says you must have LEED project involvement experience some time within the last two years to be eligible just to TAKE the exam. For many people, the notion of finding a LEED project to become involved in seems like a pretty tall hurdle to leap. Not many companies are out there asking for people to come in and take place in an eco-charrette, especially when they're not even a LEED AP to begin with. For those people, we've created the LEED Project Management Experience Program. What is it? Essentially, it's a LEED Internship – a one-day, hands-on experience program that allows you to get down to the nitty-gritty details of certifying a LEED project, and gives you the valuable experience you need in order to progress down your path to becoming a LEED AP. This LEED AP Internship gives you access to LEED online, the official online tool used to certify projects, and lets you become an actual team member on a real-world in-progress LEED registration project. You'll edit LEED credits, enter in actual project information, and submit additional documentation to each credit. A complete walk-through of the LEED Online system will be provided, and at the end of it all, you'll recieve a letter of attestation, proving your involvement with the project. This one-day course will give you all the experience needed to make you eligible for the LEED exam, and can even provide you with up to 10 Continuing Education hours if you're already a LEED Accredited Professional! So, you passed the exam and have become a LEED Green Associate, and now you've set your sights on a LEED AP+ specialty such as Building Design & Construction, Interior Design & Construction, or Building Operations & Maintenance. Studying for the exam is no problem for you, so what's keeping you from registering and taking your LEED AP exam today? LEED project experience. See, when LEED moved over to the v.3 specification, it brought with it a number of new prerequisites. Taking the LEED GA exam is pretty easy to qualify for, but the LEED AP exam adds a new, relatively difficult-to-achieve prerequisite: You must have had experience on a LEED project sometime within the last two years. For a lot of people, this is tough… maybe your company hasn't certified a LEED building yet, or perhaps your company doesn't even perform LEED certifications, meaning you would have to elsewhere to get the necessary experience. That's where our LEED Project Management Experience course comes in. The LPME course is a one-day, online webinar course that brings you into the certification process on an actual LEED project. You'll speak with the instructor, experience the LEED Online system, and get hands-on with the process of certifying a project. You become a member of the project team, and following the completion of your course, you will receive a Letter of Attestation that you can use to qualify for the LEED AP exam. All from the comfort of your home or office. Getting your LEED AP certification need not be difficult! We've already helped hundreds of people take and pass their AP exam, and we can help you as well. Visit our LEED Project Management Experience page today for more information and for class times.
